storage containers are used by blood banks to provide blood and

Infectious
diseases continue to cause illness and death around the world.
While some infectious diseases have been conquered in some
geography through modern advances in antibiotics and vaccines,
new threats are constantly emerging. Lyme diseases, AIDS and new
strains of influenza like SARS are all diseases that have
emerged within the last 20 years. Baxter manufactures TICOVAX
the leading new generation vaccine for tick – borne encephalitis
(TBE), NeisVac for meningococcal diseases, both potentially
fatal illness and Accomb 2000 a prophylactic vaccine that guards
against smallpox. Baxter’s Gemmagard SD is being evaluated as
first line treatment against SARS. |

KIDNEY DISEASES |

Kidney
diseases continue to be a growing cause of illness and death
around the world. Patients with end – stage renal disease (ESRD),
or kidney failure, require dialysis or a kidney transplant to
cleanse their blood of toxins, waster and excess water normally
removed by healthy kidneys. Baxter was a pioneer in dialysis and
